UFC 189 – Aldo vs McGregor
UFC has had its share of controversy, and the bout scheduled for July 11 between Conor McGregor, and Jose Aldo is no different. UFC 189 is scheduled to go down at the MGM in Vegas as planned that evening, but McGregor is still is not convinced he will be facing Aldo. One thing is certain, he will fight whoever shows up in the Octagon that night, and he is confident he will dominate!
Although Aldo currently remains on the card, it has been confirmed he sustained a bone bruise to is rib and cartilage. Aldo, the UFC featherweight champion, has been deemed fit to fight after reports of a broken rib in training. But McGregor commented he’s also preparing for an interim title fight against No. 1 contender Chad Mendes if Aldo is forced to bow out.
Former two-time title challenger Chad Mendes is, of course, the UFC’s backup plan, training and standing in the wings to replace Aldo at UFC 189 should the champ not be fit to fight.
